You Can Sell Anything On eBay – Even Used Airplanes…

Being in debt can lead you to do some crazy things sometimes but sometimes those wild ideas can pan out well.
Terre Haute International Airport which is located in Indiana in America, has decided to sell some of its airplanes to pay back mortgages on it’s airports.

The crazy thing is that they have decided to sell them on eBay. Their director Dennis Wiss happily told his board of its plan to sell airplanes on eBay.

Wiss admitted he was initially skeptical of the idea, but since it was basically free, he had no qualms. At his board meeting last week he announced the successful sale of not only the planes advertised, but a few others the buyers checked out. The seven planes sold brought in a total of $281,036.97.

Wiss said the proceeds are going to be used immediately to pay off two of the airport’s four mortgages, with some revenue left over to refinance the third. In addition Wiss said the auction site has drawn a considerable amount of interest to the facility by airplane brokers. The administration hopes to replace the sold airplanes by leasing, instead of buying, other planes. The planes sold included three Cesna 152s, three Cesna 172s and one Decathlon.

It just shows you anything can be sold on eBay! So don’t be worried no one wants all your unwanted items, there may be someone out there that thinks your trash is treasure.
