The Importance Of DSR Scores & Feedback
Since Best Match was introduced in Nov 09, we’ve constantly been finding ways to improve the search criteria you get rated on. Criteria like the feedback that you receive from your customers, title relevance and price and postage costs.
One thing that gets forgotten every time is educating your buyers on leaving feedback. Feedback is even more important now because of the Best Match system. The 4 ratings that the buyers have to give you stars on are:
Item as described
Communication
Postage time
Postage and handling charges
If your customer only gives you positive feedback and not any star ratings (which they can) then this can move your listings down the search rankings according to the Best Match system, because your customer satisfaction ratings are one of the criteria that gets looked at!
So when you’re asking for feedback whether it be by including a note with their item or sending an automated email out then make sure you ask for 5 star positive feedback and remind them that you are always trying to improve your customer service and if anything didn’t meet their expectations to make sure they let you know, as this might mean 3 stars out of 5 on one of your ratings, which doesn’t look great!
So keep working on improving all of your criteria for Best Match as this will put you ahead of your competitors every time. Remember feedback is what drives your business and brings in your customers, so do everything you can to make sure you are getting the 5 stars you deserve for your eBay business.
Til next time, have a great eBay week!
