New Changes In eBay Starting This Week!
Starting this week, Auctiva will NOT be allowing ‘Other
Shipping Insurance’ anymore.
This means that you’re not allowed to ask your buyer for
insurance on top of the shipping charges.
You can however still offer registered mail with insurance
inclusive in the shipping price in the domestic shipping
services drop down boxes.
For example a 500 gram bag would be:
Regular mail – $5.70
Express mail – $8.00
Registered Mail – $8.70
2) Auctiva also have a great new Bulk Edit’ tool that allows
you to edit the titles, starting bids and durations of multiple
items at once, rather than individually clicking on every
saved item.
3) Make sure all your active Good ’til Cancelled listings have
a return policy and handling time selected! If they don’t,
those listings may be blocked from renewal by eBay.
So can you still insure the items you sell on eBay?
Yes, you are still able to insure your items. Check with
your shipping carrier for insurance options, or contact a
third-party shipping insurance provider for insurance
coverage.
To help cover the additional expense, consider folding
the cost of insurance into your handling fee or item price.
How do I add my insurance cost to my Auction style listings?
If you list with Auction style format, you can choose to
add your insurance cost into your handling charges. You’ll need
to estimate the value of the item, and check with your shipping
carrier or third party insurance provider for approximate cost
of coverage.
You could also start your item at a slightly higher price to cover
the cost of insurance.
Also make sure you change your listing profiles over in Auctiva
and eBay if you are using the old method to list your items as the
changes have come into affect this week and your listings may not
be listing due to these new rules!
Have a great eBay week!
