Making Sure You Have Photos That Sell
Photos can make or break a product and recently we have had a few questions on how to improve people’s listings and the first thing we find its that people haven’t included clear enough photos or given them enough photos to look at all angles of the product.
When buyers skim down the page looking at the Gallery picture for a specific product, they are looking for something that is going to jump out at them. Your job as an eBay seller and product photographer is to get them to notice your photo, stop and be compelled to enter your listing.
So how do you take photos that will bring you more bids? Here are a few points to get you started taking pics that will get your item sold and more importantly make you money
1. Have proper lighting. Natural light is best, remember, the clearer your picture, the more bids you‟ll get.
2. A Clear uncluttered background, we dont want to see your product laying on the driveway or on your lounge room floor, it needs to showcase what your selling…
3. When size matters. If you‟re selling something, and find it hard to explain the dimensions of the item, showcase it next to something that is standard and people can relate to.
4. Show every angle, remember that you are selling to a computer and they cant physically touch the item, so make sure you show them every angle you would want to see if you picked up this item in a retail shop.
5. Take honest photos. So if your item has flaws due to wear and tare, or any imperfections at all, take photos that include these flaws so that shoppers can see immediately that you‟re honest and upfront as a seller. This also ensures less negative feedback as there won‟t be any surprises for the winner of your item.
6. Make your Gallery pic stand out, if you are technically minded, try putting a border around the pic to highlight it or put your logo in a corner of the pic, Photoshop is great for editing photos, if you aren’t very techy use a web designer or friend that can help you learn the basics..
Remember photos play a big part in getting your item sold, so take the time to present your item as professionally as possible
so you aren’t losing money on your auctions!
Til next time, make sure your photos stand out!
