Advanced Strategies To Ramp Up Your Selling!
There is always going to be a plateau when you reach the peak of the eBay mountain but what you have to remember is that you can always do much more to reach the next peak of selling. You have to make sure not to get too comfortable and happy with what you are achieving when you can always achieve more. This will always put you one step ahead of the competition if you are prepared to raise your levels each time you achieve a goal.
The first strategy that you can use to ensure you are maximising your profits, is Cross Promotion.
Cross Promotion is when you advertise other items you are selling at the top or botom of your listing, automated emails or in your Store. Using this feature will boost your sales if you have someone who has bought one item from you and then seen the Cross Promotion box which shows them the other goodies you are selling and all of a sudden they have 2 items in checkout when once upon a time they would have had one…not much work for another sale right?
So to switch Cross Promotion on in your Store, go to Manage My Store and then on the left under Item Promotion, click on Cross Promotion and follow the prompts. This can set up automatic defaults for your items to be Cross Promoted at different times.
The second strategy that can help you stand above the competition is separating yourself from the pack. However to make yourself stand out it can cost you a little more than a normal listing. If your item is in high demand you can try 1 day auctions (for those with less than 10 feedback you will have to wait to use this one when you reach 10), this can be highly successful with some high ticket items, make sure you do your research before you jump into this one.
For a couple of dollars you can try a Picture Pack which includes up to 6 photos, a picture show and a supersized option. Or simple options such as adding a Buy It Now for buyers not wanting to wait for the auction to finish, it is amazing how many people don’t use this option when they have a really hot item! Obviously there are more expensive options like Featured Plus which costs $14.95 and your item will appear above the general listings in a purple box. When you are spending this type of money make sure to do your research to see if this is working for competitors in your category and to test and measure if you aren’t getting any more clicks than usual.
The last advanced but simple strategy for today is selling international! If you are dominating your niche within Australia why not open up to the world and offer them your product also…Some things to think about are, when exporting make sure that it’s allowed in all countries you are going to ship to. There is a guide on eBay for you to check out for restricted items:
Make sure when you have filled out your international shipping that you have filled out all the destinations that you WILL ship to and postage costs as a flat rate or calculated as you don’t want your international customers paying domestic shipping within Australia.
Well there you have a few advanced but simple strategies that most sellers don’t use that could easily increase their profits 10-20%, so get hopping and implement some new strategies today.
Til next time have a great eBay weekend!
