Will These New Changes Affect Your Business In The New Year?
eBay have moved into the New Year with some new tools and upcoming changes, these changes may affect how you list your items and where you list them to get exposure for your eBay business.
During the week commencing 7 February, eBay will be making some improvements to the category structure on eBay.com.au. These improvements aim to make it easier to buy and sell on eBay.com.au.
In particular, sellers should be aware of the following changes:
* Many categories have been simplified to avoid duplication with the Item Specifics on the Create your listing page.
* Business, Industrial has been split into two categories – one named Business, and one named Industrial.
* Fashion has been renamed to Clothing, Shoes, Accessories.
Most of the improvements will not require sellers to take any action, but it is recommended that you check your listings to ensure they are still being listed in the appropriate categories. Click on the Category Change FAQs for more information about these improvements below:

So be sure to find out if your category is going to be affected and if you need to revise your listings.
Once the category changes take place, what will happen to my listing?
Your listing will continue to be live on eBay.com.au. If sub categories are being created to the category where you’ve listed, then your item will move to one of the new sub categories. Items are often moved to the “Other” category, the specific location can be
confirmed by reviewing the new category structure.
If your item is listed in a category that is moving to a new place, your item will move to that new place.
There is also some other new features that are live now and upcoming in the next few weeks.
Check out the NEW Find & Replace feature
eBay now have a new ‘Find & Replace’ feature in the Sell Your Item form. This means you will be able to revise almost all fields on your multi-quantity Buy It Now listings after these types of listings have had a sale. In the past, you could only change a few fields on multi-quantity listings. You’ll be able to do this on listings individually (through the Revise Your Item process) or in bulk (through the eBay Bulk Edit tool in My eBay, Turbo Lister, Blackthorne and third-party listing tools).
What’s changing in the bulk editing tool?
We are introducing “find and replace” functionality for item description to the eBay Bulk Edit tool in My eBay which will allow you to revise your item descriptions in bulk.
There is also a new tool called “The Big Deal”…
Have you seen the Big Deal on eBay yet? This page is updated everyday and features items from eBay sellers that are heavily discounted (up to 80% RRP) with free postage. These items are Buy It Now and limited in quantity. At these bargain prices, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
